Walk by the Spirit… walk by faith

What we perceive as reality, based on empirical evidence and hard facts could be very deceptive sometimes.

I say this because people have the ability to create the kind of reality they want us to believe about them or any particular situation.

You may think that you really know someone, but could be in for the shock of your life if they took away the mask to reveal their true identity.

You may have the impression that you fully understand, and are in total control of your circumstances meanwhile, you may actually be a pawn in an intricate network of manipulators gleefully orchestrating a synthetic reality in which they control what they want you to believe, what they want you to see, what they want you to do and how and when to do it.

Are you about to commit to a relationship, start a new partnership or investment? Are you about to quit your job, get a divorce or commit an abortion? Just hold on a second.

Are you about to get married, sell or buy a house; are you about to send money to someone somewhere, drop out of school or donate an organ?

Are you about to give up? Are you thinking of committing suicide? Just hold on a second.

What is that next big step you are thinking of taking? Watch out now.

Don’t rush anything and do not allow anyone or any situation to put you under undue pressure. It could be a trap. One from which you may never fully recover.

The Man of God Joshua, as well as all the elders of Israel were deceived into making a covenant and signing a very bad deal with the Gibeonites.

They were manipulated into making a truce and granting concessions to an enemy they were supposed to destroy. One false step that introduced grievous consequences suffered for generations.

You can read the whole story in

Joshua chapter 9.

They made a seemingly small and innocent mistake with huge consequences affecting their posterity for a long time.

And why did it happen? Because they did not seek the face of God regarding the matter. They did not pray about it. From their perspective, the situation did not warrant any prayers because it was simple, straightforward and uncomplicated.

Their decision seemed pretty sensible, logical and smart. That is what any forward-thinking business executive would do. Making a move after verifying empirical evidence presented by experts who analyze trends, data and information using the latest technology.

Shocker!!! They did not see it coming. One of the greatest mistakes of their lives. All based on data, experience and solid proofs- which all worked to lead them astray.

I don’t have any problem with using a logical and scientific approach, based on tested experience to solve problems or arriving at conclusions.

What I’m saying is that as children of God, we should never forget or neglect prayer in our decision making process.

I’m not insinuating that you should make your own decisions independently and then ask God to bless it. You need to seek His guidance and input with an open mind; having a willingness to navigate towards whatever direction He may lead you.

That is how you save yourself from the traps the devil has prepared for you.

The Gibeonites represent the subtlety, ingenuity and manipulative ability of the enemy. Remember that

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Eph 6:12

We need to seek God and be led by His Spirit in everything we do even when it sounds stupid and feels like a waste of time.

That is how you extricate yourself from the manipulative devices of the enemy.

If Joshua and the Israelites had prayed before attacking the small city of Ai, they would never have experienced the humiliating defeat they suffered.

Joshua 7

Similarly, if Adam or Eve had sought God just for a few seconds before believing the devil and eating that fruit in Eden, life as we know it would have been a more pleasant experience.

Genesis 3:6

The Bible says

Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

Proverbs 6:5

Spending just 5 minutes in earnest prayer could save you from 25 years of pain, heartache and frustration.

Therefore think twice and pray thrice before making that next move.

Stay Blessed

Ps. Pekints
